Method

Formula Rice(party, vote) = |Yes - No| / (Yes + No), only when Yes + No >= 3; abstention, obstruction and absence are excluded

Formula party cohesion = simple mean of Rice over the open roll-call votes of the period where Rice was computed

Formula party alignment = votes equal to the own party guidance (or the federation guidance when the party gives none) / comparable votes (guidance and vote in Yes, No, Abstention or Obstruction; Free vote, no guidance and bloc-only guidance are excluded)

Formula guidance equal to the government = votes where the party guidance matches the Government leadership guidance / votes where both are comparable

Formula attendance (Chamber) = roll-call votes with a recorded vote / roll-call votes of the period; the API lists only who recorded a vote, so a substitute who took office mid-period shows a lower rate

Formula attendance (Senate) = votes where the senator is listed as present (voted, Yes, No, Abstention, present without vote or presiding) / votes where the senator is listed
